Cultivators,
During my time with you, rather than having a vacant lot that remained fallow for decades, we collaborated to bring a community garden into fruition. With the waiting list and larger county interest in involvement, there is no doubt that our garden is a success. I also know that the seeds were planted many years before my time at Island United.
Soil requires tending and preparation. Seeds germinate and develop in their own time. In this 60th year, the Island United legacy is blooming. What more do you want to grow?
This Sunday, we will look at Matthew 13:1-9, 18-23, which is also known as “The Parable of the Sower”. God is the seed; we are the soil. God has provided the vision; how do we provide the physical reality? Together, we are called to evolve into something completely new.
I look forward to seeing you at 10 am on 1130 Balclutha, Zoom, or Livestream as we look at the text.
Keep tilling and sowing,
Rev. Michael
