Beloveds,
“Look around you, can you see? Times are troubled, people grieve. See the violence, feel the hardness; All my people, weep with me.” This is the first verse of the congregational hymn Kyrie Eleison (Look Around You), which was a standard Lenten hymn at my former church.
Becoming aware of the surroundings beyond our four walls can be overwhelming. There is so much need, we might wonder whether or not we are really making a difference. But we can and we do.
As we enter into our 60th year, we will be examining our heart of compassion centered in the heart of Foster City with the four-week Changemakers worship series inspired by the local Changemakers Initiative (https://thechangemakerinitiative.org). It all starts with compassion — the “suffering with”. I look forward to this journey with you. It is a great time to invite someone into our beloved community.
See you at 10 am Sunday on 1130 Balclutha, Zoom, or Livestream.
Love,
Rev. Michael
